Workplaces are no longer designed in uniform shades of grey. Quite the contrary: there are no limits to creativity in the design of current office furniture. New products inspire with a design that combines functionality with extraordinary shapes and colours – in keeping with the motto of this year’s ORGATEC: “Creativity works”.
Is that a work of art or can it be used in the office? When examining the new products presented at ORGATEC, this question arises every now and then. The conference table resembles a modern sculpture, the office chair equals an abstract seating object and the acoustically effective partition looks like an exciting installation. The actual application is thereby not impaired but improved. Functional solutions are given a new form, which enhance the practical utility with an aesthetic added value. Pieces of furniture used for work evolve into creative eye-catchers.
The unconventional design of many new pieces of office furniture corresponds to current demands on the furnishing of work spaces. Latest studies and surveys confirm that creativity, inspiration and imaginativeness are influenced by a corresponding environment. Stimulating interiors significantly contribute to the development of people’s creative potential. Just as abstract paintings promote thinking, an unusual working environment can have a stimulating effect. Deviations in shape or colour are stimulating and convey that people are allowed to think in new directions. Creative product ideas by international manufacturers will be shown at ORGATEC from 25 to 29 October 2016.
